Pollution-free biogas units soon in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: As part of the Smart City, kitchen waste-based biogas plants will be set up to make the city as pollution-free, said District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed.
The representatives of Baba Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, under Telangana State environment, forest, science and technological department, gave a power point presentation on the establishment of biogas plants and electricity production plants using domestic wastes, here at the Collectorate in Karimnagar on Thursday.
They explained how to use domestic wastes that was obtained from city for producing biogas and power production along with keeping a check on pollution.
They also explained how to store medicines, food items and fruits for more than two years without using refrigerators and power, by establishing radiation-free plants through Power Point presentation.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Ahmed felt establishing such kind of plants would be highly beneficial for small and middle-class industrialists. This kind of plants are needed to transform Karimnagar as a smart city, he said that many should come forward to establish these pollution-free units in the city to make it pollution-free.
City commissioner Shashank, Satavahana University Registrar Komal Reddy, district civil supply officer Guari Shankar, public health EE Bhadhraiah, RWS deputy EE Ram Kumar, marketing DD Padmavathi, district agriculture officer Sridhar, horticulture DD Srinivas and the representatives from Baba Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai were present.
