​Vemulawada: Efforts are on to get a new Swarna Rudraksha Mantapam in Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple at Vemulawada. With the existing Silver Rudraksha Mantapam has lost its sheen due to wear and tear, Vemulawada MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh Babu, who met the Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy in Hyderabad on Tuesday, urged him to replace the existing Silver Rudraksha Mantapam with a golden one. He submitted proposals in this regard to the Minister.

The Minister said that a decision will be taken after consulting with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. It’s learnt that the swarna mantapam needs 20 kgs of gold. According to the temple officials, Lord Rajanna has 56 kgs of gold. It takes about one year for the installation of swarna mantapam.

The MLA also urged Minister Indrakaran Reddy to provide contract jobs to the displaced families, who lost their land to Baddi Pochamma temple. The Endowments Minister, who responded positively also sanctioned funds for the development of Mamidipally Sita Rama Swamy temple. Meanwhile, it’s learnt that Varadhi NGO will be entrusted with the responsibility of appointing contract workers in the temple.
