Gold Medal for CCMB Scientist, Senior Scientist and Group Leader. Utpal Bhadra, Senior Scientist and Group Leader, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) has been selected for the Dr. Radhakrishnan Gold Medal for the year 2013 by the Global Economic Progress & Research Association (GEPRA), a Chennai based research organisation, which is engaged in academic research in economics and finance.
Utpal Bhadra, Senior Scientist and Group Leader, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) has been selected for the Dr. Radhakrishnan Gold Medal for the year 2013 by the Global Economic Progress & Research Association (GEPRA), a Chennai based research organisation, which is engaged in academic research in economics and finance.
Dr Bhadra has received the Gold medal at a function held in Chennai for his outstanding contribution in education and national science development as part of his research in the field of Biotechnology and its related areas.
His group has pioneered the gene silencing and RNA interference technology and was the first group to identify RNAi and gene silencing in animals. He contributed several findings in the field of gene silencing and RNA interference.
