Hyderabad: The US’s Community College Initiative Programme (CCIP) which is an academic and professional exchange programmes between India and the USA has finalised six students from Hyderabad district for its 2016-17 academic year where students will have a chance to participate in a diploma programme completely funded by United States government.

The main aim of CCIP is to improve the communication between the two countries, “says Gabriel, public relations officer, US Consulate, Hyderabad.

This course will also enhance the technical, leadership and English proficiency skills in the students,” he adds.
It is a really great opportunity for us to spend an academic year in America, we are expecting to learn a lot of new things there,” says Balla Sandhya Rani, a B.Sc second year student from Palakonda, Andhra Pradesh.

This opportunity has given wings to my passion; I have opted for BA Psycology as there is no course in film making in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after my inter. But, by CCIP I am getting to learn the film making which will help me in clearing my future plans,” says Begari Chandrakanth who is a BA second year student from Nizam College, Hyderabad.

While, another student Darshanala Sushma, from Koti Womens College, Hyderabad feels that she will have a greater grip on not just the stream she has chosen, but also the exposure will help her in her future career.

Every year, US government selects 30-students from undeserved communities and sends them to the United States for one academic year in the United States and may earn certificates in their fields of study.

After completing the program, participants return home with new skills and expertise to help them contribute to the economic growth and development of their country.
