Hyderabad Open Badminton Tournament kicks off

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Open Badminton Tournament began at GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad with Sports Authority of Telangana State Chairman Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy inaugurating the event here on Tuesday.
The six-day Tournament will conclude on August 11. Around 300 players from various countries are taking part in this Tournament and this is the fifth Super 100 tournament of the 2019 BWF World Tour held as part of the Hyderabad Open Championships since 2018.
The tournament is organied by the Badminton Association of India and sanctioned by the BWF a press release said.
This tournament will witness competition in five categories Men's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's singles, Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
The total prize money to be awarded in this tournament is $75,000 and the distribution of prize money will be done in accordance with BWF regulations.
Badminton Association of Telangana secretary Phani Rao and other organising officials were also present at the inauguration of the badminton tournament.
