The host St. Peter’s International Residential School made a clean sweep by winning all the four trophies in the 3rd edition of the Chairman’s Trophy Inter School Basketball Tournament held at the school premises at Dhulapally, Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: The host St. Peter's International Residential School made a clean sweep by winning all the four trophies in the 3rd edition of the Chairman's Trophy Inter School Basketball Tournament held at the school premises at Dhulapally, Hyderabad.

They emerged champions in Under 13 (Boys and Girls) and Under 16 (Boys and Girls).

In Under 13 Boys, St. Peter's International Residential School defeated Sadhu Vaswani International School 21-12 while in the Girls category the hosts team trounced HAL Secondary School 21-13.

It was a cake walk for St. Peter's International Residential School teams in both Boys and Girls Under-16 finals against DRS International School.

They thrashed DRS International School 20-8 to lift the Girls crown and won the Boys title by clinching a 20-12 victory.

Akash of Oak Valley (under 13 boys), Jahnavi of HAL School (under 13 Girls), Vardha of DRS International School (under 16 Girls) and Raksaka of DRS International School (under 16 boys) have been adjudged as the Most Promising Players of the Year while Siddharth of Sadhu Vaswani International School (under 13 boys), Divya Neha of Oak Valley School (under 13 girls), Srihitha of St. Peter's International School (under 16 Girls) and Vishnu of St. Peter's International School were awarded the Most Valuable Player of the Year titles.

T Bala Reddy, chairman of St Peter's International Residential School gave away the trophies, medals and the cash prizes to the champions and runner-up teams.

The winning teams received the Winners Cup and a cheque for Rs.8,000 while the runner-up teams were honoured with a Runner-up Cup and a cheque for Rs.5,000.

The individual award winners the Most Valuable and the Most Promising Players were felicitated with a medal and a certificate.

The annual tournament witnessed the participation of around 200 basketball players from nine different schools. In all 32 teams fought for the honours in the two-day tourney which concluded on Saturday.

The schools which took part are DRS, Pallavi Model School, CMR International School, Oak Valley, HAL Secondary School, Sadhu Vaswani International School, Takshila School, Abhaya International School and St. Peter's International Residential School.
