The report says Apple has already started manufacturing iPhone XR in India and soon start the production of new iPhone 11 also.

In last few weeks after running several trials, Apple has started the production of its iPhone XR in Chennai with its manufacturing partner Foxconn reported ET Telecom. Apple has already begun the manufacturing iPhone XR in India, and soon they will start the production of new iPhone 11 also.

The report discloses that Apple had earlier tested the waters with the export of iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 models in Europe. Soon they will start exporting iPhone XR and iPhone 11 also.

After reading about this news, if you think that the prices of the iPhone 11 or iPhone XR will be slashed in the country? Sadly, the answer is "NO". According to the report, Apple is expected to save 20 per cent on the import duty, but it will not reduce any price for the consumers. The company has not lowered the costs of iPhone 6S or iPhone SE that are already manufacturing in India so, most probably the costs won't be reduced as of now.

As we all know from the earlier reports that Apple is also going to open its retail store in India soon. It is likely to be located in Mumbai's Maker Maxity mall in Bandra Kurla Complex. The upcoming Apple store in BKC will be the largest in India till date. It will be three times the size of its largest franchisee run 8,000 sq ft outlet in Mumbai. It was opened in August is spread across two floors in Mumbai's High Street Phoenix Mall.

Reports also say that Apple is importing the fixtures and furniture for the new outlet and may take around eight months to a year to complete. The outlet may probably start by September next year. Manish Maker, a partner in Maker Maxity with RIL as the other JV partner, did not respond on this report.
