Highlights

  • Realme XT is launched in India with a price starting at Rs 15,999
  • The 64MP quad-camera system makes the phone exceptional

The Realme XT becomes the third quad-camera smartphone that Realme has launched in the country after the Realme 5 and 5 Pro. Realme XT is mainly about that 64MP quad-camera setup, which comes a few weeks ahead of Xiaomi's own 64MP quad-camera phone, the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Design

Realme XT feels more premium than any other Realme phone we've seen so far. Since the Realme XT is Realme's first phone that comes with Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides. The curved glass panel on the back feels soft and durable. It will not get scratches quickly, but still, you need to handle it carefully.

The glass on the back is of the glossy. It is available in two gradient finishes, Pearl Blue and Pearl White. It has got a metal frame, and there is a power button with a yellow accent on the right side and volume keys on the left. On the bottom are a Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack and a single speaker grille.

Display

The display on the Realme XT gets a Dewdrop screen that we have seen on many Realme models earlier. The Realme XT sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ (1080x2340) Super AMOLED display, similar to the Realme X. The AMOLED display looks good on first glance with attractive, vibrant colour, deep blacks and excellent viewing angles.

This model of Realme also comes with Widevine L1 standard, so we can watch videos on platforms like Netflix and Prime can be seen in crisp HD resolution.

Camera

64MP quad-camera system makes the phone exceptional. Realme XT the only phone with a 64MP camera in India yet. It uses the new 64-megapixel ISOCELL GW1 sensor. The 64MP camera also works on a 4-in-1 pixel binning technology that combines four 16MP shots to offer one bright and detailed photo.

In addition to a high-resolution 64MP sensor, the Realme XT also gets an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The primary camera is EIS supported and also supports Nightscape, Chroma Boost and HDR. On the front, the Realme XT gets a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor.

Performance and Storage

A Snapdragon 712 SoC powers Realme XT. SD712 is a 2.3Ghz octa-core processor based on a 10nm process and is equipped with an Adreno 616 GPU. The Realme XT comes in 4GB, 6GB and 8GB of RAM along with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. It will also support for storage expandability via microSD card up to 256GB.

The Realme XT can run PUBG on default high graphics. This smartphone runs on ColorOS 6, which comes with a lot of bloatware. There are many preloaded apps like Dailyhunt, Wynk Music, UC Browser, WPS Office, Opera News etc. You can uninstall these apps for a cleaner UI.

Battery

The Realme XT is backed up by a 4,000mAh battery, not that great. When compared to its siblings, the other Realme phones, the Realme XT feels a bit disappointing. You will get close to a full day battery life, but if you are a heavy user, then you will need to charge it once before sleeping or just before you leave for work the next day.

The VOOC 3.0 fast charging support is excellent. The Realme XT gets charged in about 1 hour 20 minutes.

Outcome and Price

The Realme XT is another champ. It offers a premium design and an attractive AMOLED display, and Realme X also provides this. Remarkably, the Realme XT starts at Rs 15,999, which makes it more affordable when compared to the Realme X.

The Realme XT stands out for its 64MP camera system. You will not find another phone that offers a combination of high-resolution, detailed photography and versatility in this fragment. If you are fond of photography, then Realme XT is for you.
