As many as 17 outgoing senior officials including Hyderabad mayor Bonthu Rammohan who will be the demitting office in February gifted themselves with the latest iPhone 12 Pro Max (512 GB).
As many as 17 outgoing senior officials including Hyderabad mayor Bonthu Rammohan who will be the demitting office in February gifted themselves with the latest iPhone 12 Pro Max (512 GB). A total of Rs 27.23 lakh has been spent on mobile phones which is roughly worth Rs 1.6 lakh for each.
The initiative was one of the 14 proposals of the standing committee that was approved in a meeting held this week following which, the 17 members of the standing committee bought the iPhones. Interestingly, most of the committee members belong to the ruling TRS party.
The standing committee of GHMC is the highest authority of the municipal corporation which approves all projects, development works and important policy decisions. The committee members are demanding the latest version of the iPhone for all the corporators for the last few months. However, the proposal was later called off as it would cost Rs 2.50 crore to buy the phone for 155 corporators and instead the committee members decided to gift themselves with the mobile phone.
It is notified that all 17 members received iPhone 11 Pro Max worth Rs 1.30 lakh each earlier this year and now all they upgraded their phones to iPhone 12 Pro Max.
