Mahbubnagar: Launching the 30-day Action Plan programme in Divitipally village of Mahbubnagar district, Excise Minister Srinivas Goud urged the participation of people in large numbers to make the event a big success.

He said it is only with the participation of each and every individual that they can change the complete face of their village in the targeted 30 days period. Before launching the programme, the Minister read out the Chief Minister's message of the 30-day Action Plan at the grama sabha and said that this is the right opportunity for the villagers to come together and join hands to make their village clean and green and resolve their long-pending issues and problems faced by their respective village.

"The main objective behind the 30-day Action Plan for the villages by the government is to bring a comprehensive change in the overall outlook of the village. This is the best opportunity given by the government to set up a dumping yard, a crematorium, install electricity poles and electric bulbs and street lights in the villages."

"In this scheduled 30-day programme let us all come together to better our roads, to construct individual household latrines, to build sink pits, remove unwanted and dilapidated constructions in the villages and close down the defunct wells and pits and repair the drains.

Each and every individual must take part in the programme and extend their helping hand in making their village the best place to live-in," said the Minister. The Minister said the role of youth is very much important in the villages that have the power to change the face of their villages and bring advance development by providing modern facilities even in the rural parts to the people.

"I hope that that the 30-day Action Plan will definitely make each and every village a model village. The sarpanches, panchayat secretaries and the villagers must ensure that this programme becomes a big success," the Minister said.

He said as part of the 30-day programme focus must be given on cleanliness. Focus should also be put on Haritha Haram plantation programme. The Minister urged that every household in the village must at least plant 6 trees and make their village a green and clean village.

District Panchayat officer Venkateshwarlu said that sanitation is vital to curb the diseases. It is high time that the villagers must take advantage of the 30-day Action Plan to ensure that their villages become clean and get rid of vector-borne diseases.
