6 held for gambling; 46K 7 cell phones seized
The North Zone Task Force officials on Wednesday conducted raids at organised gambling house at Chilkalguda and arrested six persons including gaming organiser and five punters.
Hyderabad: The North Zone Task Force officials on Wednesday conducted raids at organised gambling house at Chilkalguda and arrested six persons including gaming organiser and five punters. The police seized Rs 46,500 betting amount, seven cell phones and three sets of playing cards from the possession of the accused.
According to Task Force officials, accused S Srinivas (57) is working in medical field. When his earnings were not sufficient to maintain luxurious life, he hatched a plan to organise gaming house by inviting punters who are habitual players of three card game.
On a tip off, the police raided the house and arrested five punters identified as H Praveen Kumar, M Venugopal, C Venkatesh, R Srinivas, and organiser K Srinivas. The apprehended accused along with seized material were handed over to SHO, Chilkalguda Police Station for further action.
