Gadwal: The Gadwal district administration has set the target of making the district headquarters of Gadwal municipality a cent per cent clean and green town during the 15-day action plan programme. Launching the action plan programme in the urban municipalities in Gadwal, District Collector K Shashanka along with Zilla Parishad Chairperson Saritha unveiled the action plan for the next 15 days for the Gadwal municipality.

As part of the action plan, the municipal authorities have decided to divide the district into five zones and accordingly will implement the clean and green programme. The municipal authorities will first conduct ward meetings and later identify the problems, issues and challenges in the respective wards. After identifying the problems, they will chart out an action plan and accordingly take up the implementation of the action plan. First three days will be allocated for meetings and devising of action plan and the next 10 days will be allocated for the implementation programmes like clearing of drains, clearing of unwanted bushes and garbage dumps, filling up of damaged roads, laying of water pipelines, installation of new electrical poles, installation of street lights, and if there are any unused abandoned buildings or walls, the municipal authorities will remove all such structures.

Overall, in the next 15 days the Gadwal district administration has decided to make sure that the entire Gadwal municipality be converted into cent per cent clean and green and accordingly, set the targets towards achieving it. "The urban action plan programme has been launched in the district. We have set the target of making entire Gadwal municipality clean and green" said District Collector while launching the programme.
