Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy called on Telangana Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao here on Thursday.
Immediately after landing at Hyderabad Airport from Amravathi, Jagan Mohan Reddy went to Raj Bhavan to meet the Governor. He had an hour-long meeting and is believed to have had discussions on various issues. It was Jagan's first meeting with Narasimhan after the Central Government appointed a new Governor for Andhra Pradesh. Since 2014, Narasimhan was the Governor for both the Telugu States and he had a better understanding of bifurcation issues including assets and institutions between AP and TS. This meeting assumes significance as the Union Home Ministry has convened a meeting in New Delhi on August 8 to discuss issues pertaining to the division of employees, assets and other related subjects between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Later, Jagan Mohan Reddy also met his Telangana counterpart, Chandrashekhar Rao. They reportedly discussed issues pertaining to employees, institutions under 10th Schedule and sharing of river waters. Both the States had earlier agreed to find an amicable solution to sharing of Godavari and Krishna water.
Jagan Mohan Reddy is visiting Jerusalem on Thursday evening and would return to Hyderabad on August 5.
