Asifabad: Congress Sirpur constituency in-charge Dr Palvai Harish Babu alleged that TRS leaders Balka Suman and Venugopala Chary are making false statements that there is no water in Pranahitha Chevella project near Tummidihatti.
Addressing a press conference at Peoples Office in Sirpur on Thursday, Harish Babu said that their comment is baseless as according to CWC records, the water level of the project never gone below 400 TMC in any condition in the past 30 years. In 1993-94, 2000 TMC water flow was recorded. He questioned the TRS leaders 'how can it show 1650 TMC at Medigadda if 165 TMC water flow was recorded.'
Stating that Tummidihatti project will receive an inflow of 30 per cent only and 70 per cent will come from Ganga river, Harish Babu advised the TRS leaders to visit Tummidihatti before commenting on it. Sirpur Papermill was closed in 2014 when Naini Narsimha Reddy was the president of the papermill workers union, KCR was the CM and KTR was the Minister of Industries, he pointed out. He also stated that TRS leader Harish Rao had forgotten the promise he gave last year of constructing a dam on Vardha river.
