Wanaparthy: Awareness on parking, traffic regulations for biz units held

Wanaparthy: With an aim to create awareness among the people of business establishments regarding the norms related to parking of vehicles and other traffic rules and regulations, the Wanaparthy police conducted an awareness programme on Tuesday.

The main objective of the programme is to ensure a proper parking discipline among the public and the vehicle owners of the business establishments in the market area. It has been witnessed that motorists were parking their vehicles on the roads causing traffic congestion in the narrow lanes of business establishments causing inconvenience to fellow motorists and customers in the markets.

At present, there are many business establishments and market hubs in and around Wanaparthy district and they are situated in narrow lanes. As these establishments have been built long back with no proper arrangements for parking, the district police have decided to create awareness among business owners and have set a certain parking rules for them. "As Wanaparthy district is having congested lanes in the market areas, the parking of vehicles on the roads is causing traffic problems. To regulate this, we have decided to follow certain rules and regulations related to parking of vehicles and the owners of business establishments asked to follow them lest face the action. As part of this, we have decided to conduct awareness among the people of business establishments about the new parking regulations and norms," said traffic Sub-Inspector Koteshwara Rao.

As part of the programme, the teams from traffic police department held meetings with shop owners in Rajiv Chowk area and advised them to tell their customers to park their vehicles only in the parking lots lest face the action of traffic police.
