Hyderabad: By keeping last years' experience in view, the Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Samithi organisers and city police have decided to complete the immersion of Khairatabad Ganesh before noon on September 12.

According to P Viswa Prasad, DCP, Central Zone, Khairatabad Bada Ganesh will be immersed before 1 pm on Thursday. Since last year the tallest Ganesh was immersed at 1:45 pm, this year they are taking measures to complete the immersion process before 1 pm.

For the past many years the devotees are thronging the Tank Bund to watch the immersion of Khairatabad Ganesh, and leaving the Hussain Sagar premises after immersion process.

The DCP said the works already began from Monday and the route map was finalised after discussions with the Utsav Samithi organisers.

Metal sheds and advertisement boards will be removed before early morning hours on Thursday and the welders, carpenters will detach the other idols from the main idol.

The works would tentatively begin at 7 am on Thursday with Puja and procession would commence immediately.

The procession is expected to be completed within two and half hours as police with the help of volunteers make sure that the tallest Ganesh idol reaches the Crane No 6 on Tank Bund-Necklace road before 10 am.

The lifting of Ganesh will start at 12:30 pm and within half an hour the immersion process is expected to be completed. During the immersion, the other idols would be diverted to Lepakshi side to avoid inconvenience to the devotees.

Along with city police, district police personnel would work in shifts to end the immersion peacefully on Tank Bund.

At each crane a Sub-Inspector with the help of four to six constables and women constables will be deployed to take care of the immersion.
