Karimnagar: Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) central committee member G Nagaiah alleged that the budget presented by the Union government in the Parliament is of no use for the poor and middleclass people.

The district unit has conducted political training classes for the CPM leaders and activists at Mukunda Lal Mishra Bhavan in Karimnagar on Friday.

Attending as a chief guest, G Nagaiah inaugurated the training classes. Addressing the party leaders and activists, he alleged that the union budget presented by the BJP government is totally in support of the rich, corporate companies and investors but it is not at all helpful to poor and middleclass people.

Both the Central and State governments are trying to privatise the government sectors, they are not giving loans to farmers, and lifting rural employment works on which many farm labourers are dependent, he said.

He alleged that the BJP government came to power by provoking communalism among the people. 'It used the sentiment of nationalism and played with the emotions of people. With demonetisation and introducing of GST as many as 1.8 crores of people came on to the road, who were earlier working in industries and companies as they were shut down with the effect of demonetisation and GST,' he alleged.

Stating that there is drought in the State as there are no rains, Nagaiah demanded that the TRS government must waive-off farm loans at one go instead of phase-wise manner. The government, instead of solving various issues of people, is interested in demolishing the Secretariat and to conduct municipal polls. Why the government is in such a hurry to conduct municipal polls? he questioned.

CPI-M leaders G Mukunda Reddy, Y Yakaiah, Muthyam Rao, Bandari Shekar Rao, Vasudeva Reddy, B Thirupathi, Jyothi, Maheshwari, Raji Reddy, Srinivas were present along with others.
