BJP state president Lakshman called off his five-day hunger strike on Friday here at NIMS by accepting a glass of lime juice from union minister Hansraj Gangaram.

Lakshman launched an indefinite hunger strike on April 29 at BJP office demanding justice to the intermediate students. However, the police shifted him to NIMS where he continued the strike.

The BJP leader's blood and sugar levels have come down following which his health condition deteriorated. Lakshman withdrew his protest after the BJP leaders appealed to him to call off the strike pertaining to his health condition.
