Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit official chief Spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao said the saffron party feels that Huzurnagar byelection is an opportunity for the party to go to voters and ask them to allow it to raise peoples issues as an alternative voice.

Addressing media here on Monday, he said the TRS has been in power for the last six years and the Congress represented Huzurnagar for years. However, neither of them worked towards development nor initiated welfare measures for the people.

He said the BJP is giving importance to democracy and social justice by fielding its candidate Dr Kota Rama Rao. The BJP candidate who is highly educated comes from the backward classes and had resigned to his post and entered the politics to serve people.

There is no democracy in Congress. Earlier, the TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy was elected for the third time by Huzurnagar voters. But he dumped them and insulted their verdict and resigned to contest to become a member of parliament.

Now, he is coming back to the voters to ask votes for his wife and Congress candidate as his alternative.

Similarly, it is doubtful whether the Congress party is a national party or an anti-national party. Neither the party nor the TPCC chief who comes with a background of the army has so far condemned statements of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to instigate Indian Muslims, to divide the country and to unleash terrorism in the country.

Not enough that Overseas Congress president Sam Pitroda took permission to stage a protest before the United Nations at New York when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to address the UN General Assembly.

When the Congress does not bother about the country and talks about the language of Pakistan why should Indians in Huzurnagar vote for it, he asked.

Taking a dig at the State CPI, he alleged that the left party is all set to board the TRS car during the byelection. This is despite the ruling party had earlier snatched away its lone MLA elected to the State Assembly.

"Congress has no ideology, no loyalty to the country and her people. Similarly, the TRS has no faith in democracy. Both parties are taking byelection as a matter of prestige.

But the BJP sees it as significant and tri-corner competition and asking the support of the Huzurnagar voters to the party," Rao said.
