Nizamabad: Telangana University PDSU president Jannarapu Rajeshwar said that the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019 passed by the Central government should be opposed by students.

Opposition the passage of the bill in Parliament, the PDSU members burned an effigy of the central government at the university. Addressing on the occasion, Rajeshwar said that the BJP government at the Center attacked the very basis of the Constitution. "I was born in the country but I have the misfortune to produce the certificate for being an Indian," he said.

The Act will create a gulf between religions. He said that the BJP government is using the Citizenship Amendment Bill as a conspiracy.The protesters demanded withdrawal of Bill 2019 immediately. PDSU leaders Santosh Srisailam, Mallesh Naveen, Venkatramana Ashok participated in the protest.
