Karimnagar: The cable bridge being constructed on Manair dam will be a big asset to Telangana State, stated BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar. He inspected the construction works, which are under progress in Karimnagar on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kamalakar said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has a special affection on Karimnagar district. That is why, he had sanctioned cable bridge, IT Tower and River Front to the district.

The construction works of the cable bridge are going on at a quicker pace and will be completed by March, 2020. Out of the 70 segments that are required for the cable bridge, about 22 segments were fixed till date. Each segment would weigh approximately 120 tonnes and the bridge is constructed on two pillars at a height of 220 meters.

There will be four-way lanes on the cable bridge and footpath for pedestrians of about five feet width. Wires will be arranged from the middle of the bridge. The cable bridge is being constructed by the Tata Project Company along with the Gulemar company of Turkey country. With an investment of Rs 187 crores along with approach roads, the construction works of the cable bridge are going on Manair dam.

Once the construction is completed, there will not be any traffic problems from Kaman Chowrastha to Manakondur, the Minister assured. R&B Executive Engineer Venkata Ramana, former Deputy Mayor Ramesh and former corporators were present along with others.
