Manoharabad: Villagers of Chetla Gouraram have appealed to the District Collector to halt the proposed programme of seeking public opinion about MS Agarwal Foundries Pvt Ltd on October 17.

They urged the Collector to hold the meeting in Rangayapalli and Chetla Gouraram to gather the public opinion. They explained their sufferings due to the chemical effluents released by the factory.

They said people in villages were suffering from lung and skin-related diseases and almost 100 acres of agriculture land was completely destroyed. Besides 30 borewell in a 2km radius are contaminated with chemicals. Sarpanch of Chetla Gouraram Narsaiah, upa sarpanch Srihari, upa sarpanch of Rangayapalli Naveen along with ward members were present.
