Alleges that State government making plans to privatise the Corporation to benefit a section of people

Bhadrachalam: Leader of Congress Legislature Party Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday slammed the State government for the ongoing strike by the employees of the RTC. Stating that he was even ready to go to jail for solving the issues of RTC workers, Mallu said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his government had not taken any concrete measures to solve the issues of the agitating employees though their strike entered the sixth day.

Adding that in a democracy everyone has the right to fight for their rights, Mallu called the RTC employees strike genuine. He said that the Chief Minister was acting like an autocrat by dismissing over 48,000 employees of the Corporation. He reminded that the RTC employees have been at the forefront in the statehood movement and added that there was no lathi-charge on the employees even during the Sakala Janula Samme when the Congress was in power.

"Now, the Chief Minister is trying to stop the strike with police action and hatching a plan to privatise the RTC to benefit a particular section of people," the CLP leader alleged, adding that the government remained silent though the employees had served strike notice a month ago.

Before the beginning of the meeting, Mallu along with Local MLA Podem Veeraiah expressed their solidarity to the agitating RTC workers in Bhadrachalam.
