Cong leads Inter students protest, seeks sacking of Edn Minister
The Congress party leaders from Mahbubnagar, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy and Nagarkurnool districts staged protests and called for the siege of district collectorates on Wednesday.
Mahbubnagar: The Congress party leaders from Mahbubnagar, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy and Nagarkurnool districts staged protests and called for the siege of district collectorates on Wednesday.
In Narayanpet, District Congress Committee president Shiva Kumar Reddy held a protest in front of district collectorate and demanded the government to immediately arrest all those responsible for the erroneous evaluation of Intermediate papers which have led to suicides of 28 students.
"We regard the suicides of Intermediate students as nothing but murders by the State government. The officials of Board of Intermediate Education, the Health ministry and the State government should take responsibility. The Education Minister must immediately tender his resignation on moral grounds and a thorough inquiry must be initiated to find out the facts. We are demanding the government to announce an ex gratia of Rs 25 lakh to the families who have lost their children due erroneous evaluation of Intermediate results," said Shiva Kumar.
Later, he gave a representation to the administrative officer (AO) in the Collectorate.
In Nagarkurnool, the district congress leaders Satish Madiga, Vamshi Chand Reddy and various students organisation held a rally in front of district collectorate and raised slogans against the State government.
They demanded that the Education Minister must be sacked soon and immediate remedial measures must be taken by the government so that the intermediate students do not suffer further.
Similar protests by the Congress party workers were also observed in Wanaparthy district. The protesters sat at Dharna Chowk in the city centre and demanded justice for the Intermediate students who have become victims of wrong evaluation of intermediate results by the authorities.
