Hyderabad: Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Mohammad Saleem condemned the comments of Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh joint secretary Krishna Gopal that the 16 crores of Muslims are feared about their security.

In a statement here on Sunday, Saleem said that when 50,000 Parsis, 45 lakh Jains, 85 lakh Buddhists and 5,000 Jews feel secured in India, how 16 crore strong Muslims fear about their security.

He asked Krishna Gopal that if Muslims are just 16 crores, why RSS and Hindu organisations are worried about them. Saleem refuted the comments of RSS leader that Congress created fear among Muslims.

He made it clear that it was the Congress which is the only secular party and it does not have any reason to create fear among the Muslims.

He said that under Universal Declaration of Human Rights by United Nations General Assembly, in Paris in 1948, every citizen has right to a nationality, no one should be deprived or change of nationality. It is a birth right of Muslims to live in India.
