CPM worker forced to take off his red shirt to cast vote in Munagala
In a bizarre incident, a CPM worker, who came to polling booth in Barakathgudem village of Munagala mandal in Suryapet district on Monday, to cast his vote was forced to take off the red shirt he was wearing.

According to sources, the officials made necessary arrangements for ZPTC election as the MPTC seat of Barakathgudem was elected unanimously.
Meanwhile, CPM party worker Sheelam Srinu along with his wife came to cast his vote at the polling booth in the village. Soon, the party workers of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi raised objection over the red shirt Srinu was wearing. Further, the police also mounted pressure on Srinu to remove his red shirt in order to cast his vote.
Shocked Srinu and his wife entered into argument with the police over the objection. However, Srinu was forced to remove his shirt and cast his vote after a few voters and officials requested him to cooperate.
Speaking to the media later, Srinu's wife felt that the officials and the police had insulted her husband by forcibly making him remove his red shirt in full public glare. She further questioned the police and the officials would they behave in a similar way if a woman came to the polling station wearing a red saree to cast her vote?
