A sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) committed suicide on Thursday morning by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in the CRPF quarters in Jubilee Hills. Bhavani Shankar (20) hails from Rajasthan.

Shankar had gone to his native place on his marriage and returned to Hyderabad 10 days ago. The CRPF officials suspected that he might have committed suicide due to personal issues. However, the reason for his suicide will be identified soon, said the officials.

The body was shifted from CRPF quarters to a hospital for post-mortem. More details are awaited.

On March 2020 - a constable of the CRPF ended life by allegedly shooting himself in Jawaharnagar in the city. B Vittal Rao Manwar (40), a native of Nagpur shot himself with his service self-loading rifle weapon. Rao who posted for sentry duties at CRPF school shot himself under his chin. He was dead on the spot.
