Universities and colleges across the nation participated in the live telecast of the programme

Osmania University: Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, led the university to take part in the launching of "Fit India" programme on Thursday.

The "Fit India" programme initiated by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in New Delhi, aims at creating awareness among the people to make physical activity a part of their daily routine and stay fit in realising individual and national wellness.

The Vice Chancellor strongly felt that this programme was for realising the civic ends in building a stronger and healthier country with individual commitment to self-development.

Following the call for a nationwide movement for adopting physical fitness, the university has initiated an action plan to make fitness a daily regime for the students and the staff in building a "Fit India".

The university plans to prepare a relevant fitness programme through the action plan which would be adopted by all in realising the fitness goals.

The members of faculty and students watched the live telecast of the formal launch of "Fit India" programme by the Prime Minister. As a part of the programme, the members of faculty, staff and students participated in a group walk on the university campus.
