Elder Spring to help aged people: Collector Shashanka
Aged people, who are left alone and not taken care by their children, will be identified under the Tata Trust Organisation and will be looked after their welfare, assured District Collector K Shashanka.
Karimnagar: Aged people, who are left alone and not taken care by their children, will be identified under the Tata Trust Organisation and will be looked after their welfare, assured District Collector K Shashanka.
Speaking at a review meeting with the representatives of Tata Trust at the Collector's camp office in Karimnagar on Friday, Shashanka informed that Elder Spring programme will be implemented in the district, designed by Tata Trust for the welfare of elderly, abandoned by their family.
The main intention of the programme is to give protection to the elderly, who were harassed by their family members and also to give counselling to the family members, who are not taking care of the elders of their family.
The Collector suggested the Trust members to solve various issues, which the elderly women are facing with through Sakhi centre in the district. A tollfree number 14567 is set up to receive complaints from the aged persons, who are facing harassment.
Huzurabad CDPO Sharada, Tata Trust team leader Kishore, Field Response Officer Sri Latha, Migration Consultant Swadesh Help Executor Vamshi were present along with others.
