Vikarabad: As part of Pattana Pragathi programme, the District Collector Pausumi Basu visited Subhash Nagar Colony on Monday. She inspected vegetable market and directed the officials concerned to take steps to make sure vegetable-leftovers are placed in pits.
"Places should be identified for the construction of public toilets and SHE toilets. Drainage lines should be cleaned, weeds on the roadsides should be removed. Land for burial grounds need to be identified. Bent electric poles and dangling wires should be replaced with new ones," she added.
She directed the municipal staff to plant saplings and raise them. She asked them to remove silt from unused well and make it available to fetch water for animals.
Local legislator Dr Methuku Anand, municipal chairperson Manjula Ramesh, municipal commissioner Bogeshwarlu and staff from various departments were present.
