Participating as a chief guest, Shashidhar Raju said the State government had launched the prestigious programme to protect the environment. He wanted the school children to protect the saplings planted under Haritha Haram drive and also to plant saplings on both sides of the roads in their village.
Everyone should feel responsible to protect the environment and come forward to plant trees as it is our responsibility to give pollution-free environment and ensure oxygen to future generations, he said.
Additional SP Dakshinamurthy, Rural Inspector Srinivas Reddy, SI Krishna Kumar, sarpanch, villagers, teachers and others were present.
