The State government is striving hard to design a special logo and build a brand image for Bathukamma sarees, said Director of State Handloom and Textile department Shailaja Ramayyar, here on Friday.
Siricilla: The State government is striving hard to design a special logo and build a brand image for Bathukamma sarees, said Director of State Handloom and Textile department Shailaja Ramayyar, here on Friday.
A special media team from Hyderabad visited Siricilla to inspect the process of weaving of Bathukamma sarees. Director of the State Handloom and Textile department Shailaja Ramayyar and District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar accompanied the media team for their visit to the handlooms.
Later, speaking to media, in a press meet held here at Agricultural Market Yard, Shailaja Ramayyar said the State government is striving hard for strengthening of handloom sectors in the part of that by giving orders of Bathukamma sarees, the government is taking all necessary measures for providing continuous work to the handloom workers.
Instead of manufacturing the Bathukamma sarees from other regions, the State government is manufacturing the sarees by giving the responsibilities to the handloom workers of Siricilla.
Separate park will be established for adding value to the sarees that are manufactured here in Siricilla and the government is also striving for designing of separate logo for Bathukamma sarees to give a brand image to the sarees, she said.
The TESCOB Chairman K Ravinder, Additional Director of Handloom and Textile Department Srinivas, Joint Director Venkatesham and Assistant Director Ashok were present along with 18 members team of media persons.
