Hanamkonda: The whole Telangana is looking at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the party's Warangal Urban district president Rao Padma Reddy claimed. Speaking at a meeting here on Wednesday, she said that BJP alone has the calibre of becoming alternative force in the State to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Stating that BJP is the largest political party in the world with its vast membership, she attributed it to the party's success in the recent general elections. The BJP put up a massive performance compared to the mandate it got in the 2014 elections, she said.

"By clinching four Parliament seats in Telangana, the BJP has proved that it can unseat the TRS government in near future," Rao Padma Reddy stated.

She said that BJP would continue its fight until the family rule of KCR ends. Stating that party's membership drive would commence on July 7 and ends on August 11, she urged the party cadres to focus on enrolling the new voters and women.

"It's awe-inspiring to see G Kishan Reddy's elevation to Union Minister and Bandi Sanjay's win from Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat (some part of the constituency comes under Warangal urban district)," she said.

She said that several Telugu Desam and TRS leaders are in touch with the party leadership and they are likely to join BJP in near future. On the occasion, the BJP leaders felicitated Ittaboina Sandhya, who was elected as MPTC member from Velair. Former TRS president of the 23rd Division (GWMC) B Prathap, Telugu Nadu Student Federation district president A Sairam and Gajula Sampath of Dharmasagar mandal joined the BJP on the occasion.

Former MLA Marthineni Dharma Rao, former minister Gunde Vijayarama Rao, senior leaders Hintha Krishna Murthy, Meesala Chandraiah, Enugula Rakesh Reddy and Chada Srinivas Reddy were among others present.
