Hyderabad: In a setback to the Telangana State Government, High Court on Tuesday passed interim orders staying the demolition of buildings in the existing Secretariat complex for the construction of new head office of the state administrations.

The Court has asked the government to stop razing any building until further orders are issued. The State Government has already constituted a three-member cabinet sub-committee which prepared a report on the construction of new secretariat and submitted to the government recently.

The government is supposed to submit the report to the court which is hearing the petition filed against the demolition of the Secretariat.

The government is planning to demolish all the structures and take up construction of new secretariat after Dasara festival. All offices from the existing Secretariat were already shifted to different locations.

The court informed the government that the issue of demolition of structures would come up for hearing after Dasara vacation.
