Serilingampally: Several State BJP leaders led by Ranga Reddy district unit president Bokka Narsimha Reddy, on Wednesday represented to RR Collector seeking a change in the TRS government's stand on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The leaders, Srivardhan Reddy, Sudhakar Sharma, Sriramulu, Sunita Reddy, Sridhar, Latchi Reddy, Kapula Basha, in the representation referred to the recent resolution against CAA, NPR and NRC adopted by the State Assembly. They pointed out that although the CAA and NPR were yet to be implemented the resolution sought to focus attention on their effects on the citizens.

The BJP leaders accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and some political parties and MLAs of uttering falsehood and attributing motives on the CAA and the NPR. They contended that as per law the Centre could take decisions on conferring or rejecting citizenship and that the State governments or State Assemblies do not have anything to do with it.
