Hyderabad: The students of Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society have developed fuel-free and named it as "TMREIS UNIQUONE".

Md Saleem, J Akash, Akhil Kumar, Sd Alam, Malikarjun and Md Isanulla Khan of 10th standard studying in TMR School, Kagaznagar, have developed a two-wheeler that does not need petrol or diesel but runs effectively on batteries. The gearless bike manufactured at a cost of Rs 70,000 runs on four batteries. Each battery is of 12 volts x 32 Amp Hr. The eco-friendly bike weighs about 150 kg and offers a top speed of 50-60 kmph.

On an average, the bike needs 48 watt power.

UNIQUONE consists of a permanent magnet brushless DC motor (12v x 24 Amp Hr), power controller, dynamo, batteries, MCB box. The students were provided all the facilities required to manufacture the bike at TMRS Bahadurpura Boys 1 Campus. Their tremendous efforts materialised in a short span of three to four months.
