Hyderabad: As part of activities taken up to control spread of coronavirus, as many as 150 GHMC teams are in the field, to track and to find out those who have come from abroad recently.

The teams are verifying and getting details of their health and also of their family members, informed GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar. As per the orders of the State government, people who have come from abroad should be compulsorily quarantined for a period of 14 days.

He said those disobeying the orders would be shifted to designated quarantine centers. If the teams find any person having any symptoms of coronavirus, they will immediately inform to the control room.

Accordingly, they will be shifted by ambulance to the isolation centers for further treatment. So far, the teams verified nearly 1,400 person at their houses and found no one with coronavirus. He said that the field teams were equipped with safety kit.

The Commissioner asked if any person is suffering from symptoms of coronavirus, he should immediately inform to the Helpline No.104. As per the directions of the government, the GHMC is coordinating with the District Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal and Sangareddy.

Regarding sanitation, the GHMC is 6,200 to 6,400 metric tonnes of garbage daily. The GHMC is taking up special sanitation at places where positive cases were reported and also at home quarantined places.

Special sanitation drives are also being taken up isolation areas. The Entomology wing and EVDM wings is taking up spraying, as specified by the government.

To create awareness on prevention and precautions on spread of coronavirus, hoardings have been erected at junctions and various places in the city and distributing pamphlets printed in Telugu, Urdu and English. He said pamphlets on guidelines to be followed by the home quarantined person and their families were also being distributed.

The GHMC is also taking steps to stamp to those who are home quarantined.

The GHMC Commissioner appealed to the citizens to follow as per the directions given by the Chief Minister that not to come out from for 24 hours from 6 am on Sunday as part of 'Janata

Curfew'.
