Health freaks in a quandary unable to follow diet schedule and exercise regime

Hyderabad: With government announcing unlock 1.0 many businesses have been allowed to function while gym owners have still not received any orders to open their facilities.

This has put many health freaks in a quandary as they are unable to follow their diet schedules and do all the exercises. To come to rescue of the health-conscious people, a city-based fitness trainer, who has been in this industry for more than 12 years, has been providing free online training sessions for not only his clients but also anyone else whoever was interested in.

Speaking to The Hans India, Shaik Abdul Raheem, 28, owner of R1 gym center and spa in Tolichowki, said, "For me, this job is more out of passion and the will to make others fit. The threat of coronavirus has left the fitness industry ailing and unable to sustain, many smaller gyms are on the verge of shutting down, while larger chains are facing huge losses. Also, it is turning out to be an opportunity for employed youth with 1000s of posts of trainers and support staff lying vacant."

He further adds, "Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts your overall mood. Research indicates that modest amounts of exercise can make a difference. No matter your age or fitness level, you can learn to use exercise as a powerful tool to feel better."

Preparing for the worst what if gyms were not allowed to reopen, Raheem thought of taking going online.

"We reached out to our client base and started helping them out by training online. Every morning we posted diet chart on WhatsApp and through personalised emails and fixed an online training time over a video call. We would help the clients train with whatever was available at home from backpacks to rice bags," adds Raheem.

In future, Raheem is planning to start training programmes in orphanages across Hyderabad free of cost and reach out to as many as possible.
