Ministers lead protests against new farm laws
They allege that the Centre has conspired against the farmers to help business and corporate companies
Hyderabad: In response to Telangana government solidarity for farmers Bharat Bandh, Finance Minister T Harish Rao staged a protest at Thupran highway here on Tuesday. On the occasion, he hit out at the Modi government at the Centre over the anti- farmers laws.
The minister called upon all villages to make unanimous resolutions against the farm laws of the Centre. The Modi government has dumped the 53-year-old previous farm act which offered to give MSP to farm produce.
The government wou7ld be washed away if it continued to resort anti-farm laws and help corporate companies, Rao cautioned. He alleged that the Centre conspired against the farmers to help business and corporate companies. "Our government will continue support to farmers in this regard," the minister said.
Rao asked the people to come out in support of the farmers. KCR government took a decision to oppose these draconian laws and pressure to be mounted. The farm protests reached 13th day and the centre is in no mood to end the stalemate, he deplored. The government will collapse for its anti- people laws and policies, he added.
Meanwhile, Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav took out a bike rally in the city against the centre's farm laws.
He slammed the BJP government for denying MSP and asking the farmers to sell products in other states. The Centre had hatched a conspiracy to deceive the farmers and help corporate companies he alleged. Despite financial constraints due to corona effect, the KCR government offered Rs 7,300 crore for Rythu Bandhu, he pointed out.
The Modi government was denying MSP and putting conditions to the farmers. The farmers in Delhi had been daring severe cold for 13 days and the Centre was turning a blind eye to their travails. The KCR government took a decision to oppose these false laws and mount pressure on the centre. The BJP government wou8ld collapse if the farmers and people continue protests across the country, he warned.
The new laws would deny MSP to them by selling products to corporate and businesses. The Centre should repeal the laws to help the farmers instead of business and corporate companies, added the Ministers.
