Hyderabad: NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant has criticised some States for low Covid-19 testing. Posting a tweet on his twitter account, Kant said, "Some States/cities think they can manage the Covid crisis without adequate testing.
This is not possible. Examples of Kerala/Karnataka/Korea demonstrates that testing-tracing-treatment accompanied by aggressive containment and public adherance to masks and distance is the key."
His comment assumes significance as Telangana is one of the States that is being criticised by the opposition parties for low testing.
BJP leader DK Aruna alleged that with only 38,000 tests so far, Telangana was at 22nd place in the country in number of covid tests.
A netizen responded to his tweet advising him to speak to his good friends in Telangana cabinet and advise them to ramp up testing before the situation backfires.
