Nampally: All Indian Federation of Dalit and Christian Associations filed a petition to Human Rights Commission here at the commission's office on Thursday, urging to instruct the state government for the protection to lovers on Valentine's Day from Hindu organizations like VHP, Bhajarangdal and RSS.
Speaking to media later, Jerusalem Mathaiah said that they had filed petition to HRC to give instruction to the government officials concerned to take measures to protect lovers on the Valentine Day. He alleged that Bajarangdal, VHP and RSS leaders were warning couples who come to parks and other public places that they would be married on the day.
Complaints to Home Minister and DGP were disregarded, he alleged. He said that every citizen had right to express and the Valentine Day provides an opportunity to the youth to express their love. He urged police to prevent Hindu organizations attempts to do moral policing on the day and take measures to protect people.
