Rachakonda: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat on Friday launched Dial 100 and SB Control Services in LB Nagar Police Commissioner 's camp office set up at a cost of Rs.9 - 10 lakh. Speaking later, the CP stated that information on the location of callers to Dial 100 would reach the control room through the GPRS facility. This would enable the police personnel to go to the spot to solve any problem. He said already Dial 100 has been receiving about 650 calls from the Rachakonda police limits. The police personnel have been able to reach the origin of the call within eight minutes. Women have been able to undertake safe travels, as indicated by their feedback to the department. Bhagwat said the main aim of the police was to ensure safe travel of women aided by the Hawk Eye App. 'Daily we get details from the morning DSRs. We are providing special security by the Commissionerate, which also receives calls on traffic problems through Dial 100'.

He said special training is being given to Blue Colt Police through Jeevan organisation. In the event of the need for medical help and accidents or suicide attempts, the department personnel would promptly reach the spots and initiate rescue operations. Such personnel have been trained on the steps needed to be taken.

Among those present were DCP (Crimes) P Yadagiri, DCP (Admin) Shilpavalli, ADCP (Traffic) Tajuddin, ACP Traffic Srinivas, CIs Cell ACP Venkateshwarlu, ACP L B Nagar Prudhvi Rao.
