Warangal: A large number of devotees descended on Inavole village, abode of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy temple, on Monday on the opening day of the historic Jatara which commenced with the priests performing Dhwajarohanam.

The Warangal Urban district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the comfort of devotees. The administration had ensured a battery of taps, changing rooms, community toilets besides providing other basic amenities such as drinking water for the devotees.

The Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said that the administration had set up medical camps, besides deploying about 200 sanitation staff. The authorities installed additional transformers to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

The TSRTC has earmarked 60 special buses to Inavole from Warangal, Kazipet, Komuravelli, Thorrur and Jangaon.

On the other hand, the Police department has deployed more than 400 constables besides installing 11 check posts and 66 CCTV cameras to monitor law and order during the Jatara.

Vighneshwara puja, Punyavahachanam, Mahanyasapoorvaka Ekadasi Rudrabhishekam and other rituals would be performed on January 14, the second day of the Jatara.
