Hyderabad: Congress MLA K Rajagopal Reddy on Tuesday alleged that the government has been considering Kaleshwaram project as a tourist spot as the Chief Minister said that every day thousands have been visiting it.
Speaking in the Assembly during the discussion on demands of Irrigation, Panchayat Raj and other departments, the Congress MLA said that the government must clarify whether Kaleshwaram was an irrigation project or a tourism project.
Rajagopal said that the Telangana movement was waged against the hegemony of Seemandhra people. But the Irrigation projects have been given to them to construct.
He said that the government has to pay Rs 27,000 crores to the contractors for various works.
