Kamareddy: Tahsildar Narayana said Tribals and Dalits should be treated with dignity in society in terms of constitution. Nizamsagar SI Sayanna and Tahsildar Narayana conducted an awareness programme in Girni Thanda, Nizamsagar mandal, on Thursday. Village sarpanch Anita Kadavat also participated.
The tahsildar asked not to maintain separate glasses for Dalits and other customers in hotels. Both Dalits and Buhujans should be honoured equally in all functions and urged the Dalits to send their children to schools.
He told the Tribals and Dalits should come forward and complain boldly to the police or to the tahsildar if anyone in the village violates their constitutional rights or insults and abuses them in the name of their caste.
Gram panchayat secretary D Raju, Tribals. ASI, officials of revenuedepartment, police personnel and others participated in the awareness programme.
