Karimnagar: The RTC employees, who started strike from October 5th demanding that the government must solve their issues and RTC merger with the government, reached 11th day.

The RTC employees are taking the strike on par with the separate Telangana agitation by conducting various types of programmes every day in protest against the government for sacking 48,000 RTC employees.

Telangana Jana Samiti State president Prof Kodandaram extended his support to the RTC employees and participated in a dharna staged in front of the Karimnagar Bus Depot-1 on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Kodandaram alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who promised the RTC employees of merging the public transport system with the government, is now going back and took a tough stand against them. He further found fault with the CM for announcing that there is no question of any talks with the agitating RTC employees and taking them back into the Corporation. 'Not only this, the CM sacked 48,000 RTC workers and announced that they are self-dismissed. KCR also announced of recruiting new staff for the RTC at the earliest,' Kodandaram stated.

He demanded the government for a dialogue with the RTC employees and have a fair discussion with them along with merging the RTC with the State government.
