As the Dasara festival gift, the government is distributing Bathukamma saris of 100 designs and shades to one crore women in the State, says Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy

Nalgonda: TRS working president and Minister of Municipal Administration and Information Technology KT Rama Rama Rao along with Legislative Council chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy and Energy Ministr G Jagadish Reddy launched Bathukamma saris distribution at the Agriculture Market Yard godowns in Nalgonda town on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, KTR said Chief Minister K Chandrasheakar Rao has a lot of affection for erstwhile Nalgonda district and has been developing the district in all aspects. The Chief Minister sanctioned an AIIMS and two medical colleges for the district. In addition, the State government has been developing Yadadri shrine on the lines of Tirumala with an estimated cost of Rs 400 to 500 crore, he added.

Works of the industrial park at Dandumalkapuram and Yadadri power plant in Miryalguda in the district are going on at a brisk pace and more than 10, 000 local youth will get employment when the two giant projects start functioning.

He assured the construction of bund at Pangal reservoir as a tourist point. On the request of the local MLA Kancharla Bhupal Reddy KTR sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the Mini Tank Bund on the dais itself.

He listed out the State government's welfare schemes and flagship programmes and added that the State is ahead of other States in development. Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy in his speech informed that as the Dasara festival gift the State government is distributing Bhatukamma saris of 100 varieties to one crore women in the State. The handloom sector is regaining its lost glory with the orders of Batukamma saris, Jagadish Reddy said, adding that the government is paying special focus on addressing the issues of the handloom sector.

Adding further, the Minister said that the irrigation projects are brimming and farmers are leading a respectable life thanks to the government schemes introduced for them.

Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy urged the people to cooperate and extend their support to the people's friendly State government.

Minister KTR besides distribution of Bathukamma saris also disbursed Kalyana Laxmi cheques to 250 beneficiaries on the occasion.

Managing director of the State Handlooms department Dr Shailaja Ramaiyer, Collector Gaurav Uppal ZP Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, MLC Tera Chinnapa Reddy, MLAs Bhaskar Rao , Chirumarthi Lingaiah , Ramavath RavindraKumar , BC corporation Chairman Shambaiah , party local leaders and large number of women were present.
