Legislators press for urgent irrigation water release

Mahbubnagar: In a concerted effort to address the pressing concerns of farmers in the Devarakadra, Narayanapet, and Maktal constituencies, MLAs, including G Madhusudhan Reddy (GMR), Chittem Parnika Reddy, and Vakiti Srihari, convened with irrigation officials at Jala Soudha in Hyderabad. The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the irrigation schedule for agricultural farms in the upcoming Rabi season, particularly from the Koilsagar project.

In this regard, Dr Parnika Reddy, representing Narayanpet constituency, met with the engineer-in-chief at the state irrigation department office. During the discussion, Dr Reddy brought to the officials’ attention the challenges faced by farmers despite cultivating within the ayacut of the Koil Sagar project.

In a positive development, the Engineering-in-Chief responded affirmatively, assuring that necessary measures would be taken to release irrigation water promptly, providing much-needed relief to the farmers.
