Lok Sabha Polls: Distribution of EPIC Card, Voters Slip begins
EPIC card, photo voter slip and voters guide distribution has started in various places across the state and will be in full swing in all assembly constituencies from tomorrow. BLOs will be going from house to house distributing these documents.
Hyderabad: EPIC card, photo voter slip and voters guide distribution has started in various places across the state and will be in full swing in all assembly constituencies from tomorrow. BLOs will be going from house to house distributing these documents.
Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed in an order dated February 28, 2019, that for the purpose of identification of electors in the general elections, Photo voter slips are not valid as standalone identification document for voting.
The electors shall have to show their EPIC cards as Identification documents. Electors who are not able to produce the EPIC, shall show one of the 11 specified photo identity documents including Passport, Driving Licence, Service photo ID card issued by central/state/PSU/public limited companies, passbooks with photo issued by banks/post office, PAN card, Smart card issued by RGI under NPR, MNREGA job card, Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour, Pension document with photograph, Official ID cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs and Aadhar card.
