Mahbubnagar: Three persons were crushed to death in a road accident in Kaverammapet village of Jadcherla mandal on Thursday.

According to Jadcherla police, a speeding lorry container, with a load of fruits rammed into a roadside house near Kaverammapet village killing two persons on the spot while they were standing with their bike in front of the house.

The third person who was killed in the accident was a pedestrian who came under the rear wheel and was crushed to death on the spot.

As per the eye witnesses, the driver of the container lorry coming from Bangalore heading towards Hyderabad soon after crossing the high-speed highway flyover could not control speed of the lorry as it suddenly came across a diversion meant for road underway bridge construction works. The driver unable to control the speed of the lorry directly rammed it into a roadside house injuring old women in the house.

The roof of the house and the walls came down with the impact of the lorry ramming into it crushing the ceiling down to the earth. Except for the old women, fortunately there was no one in the house during the accident. However, the people who were standing and a person who was walking by the road came under the lorry and was killed instantly.

The deceased persons were identified as Rafiuddin from Kaverammapet village, Mallaiah from Kodair village of Rajapur mandal, and Hanmanthu of Mannanur village in Wanaparthy district.

In addition to those killed, two people were also severely injured and they were shifted to hospital for treatment. The house of Kavali Krishnaiah was completely damaged and seeking help from the government.

Soon after the accident, the lorry driver who was partially injured tried to flee away the spot, however, the locals caught him and handed over to the police.

The Jadcherla Police have booked a case and investigating the matter. The deceased's bodies were shifted to Jadcherla community hospital for postmortem.
